SPICE offers a wide range of high quality, practical and relevant training packages that can be tailor-made to suit your needs.
All the training is co-designed and delivered by people with learning disabilities, who have direct experience of the issues they are discussing. They are supported by professionals who have a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with people with disabilities.
SPICE works in partnership with a wide range of organisations to offer learning and development for people in the learning disability sector. This has included colleges and universities, other learning disabled people and other organisations.
Some of the training packages we have delivered include:
We can develop new packages of training specially designed to meet the needs of your organisation so please let us know if you would like us to develop any new packages that are not listed above.
We are currently developing a Mate Crime Training course which will be delivered to police officers who deal with mate crimes and are in contact with people with disabilities.
All our courses are individually tailored to meet your individual needs or the needs of your organisation. They can be adapted for members of the public, carers, or staff from the health, housing, social care, mental health, criminal justice or third sector organisations.
We also work with colleges and universities to teach students about working with people with learning disabilities.
Being taught by supported individuals can be an extremely powerful and moving experience. They share their knowledge and experiences and can tell you how it really is.
We offer a combination of classroom teaching, workshops and interactive sessions which enables people to learn in a variety of ways.
