Positive Behavioural Support -  £20.00

SPICE believe that PBS can be used by a wide range of carers regardless of the level of their training. SPICE wanted to make this DVD to show that PBS can help carers provide good quality care for everyone they support.

The aims of this Training DVD & Guide is to primarily support conversations with support teams to:

  • Gain a better understanding of what Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is and is not.
  • Help support staff to understand how their behaviour, the behaviour of others, the environment and the individual's wellbeing can affect them and how they can support people to get what they want or need.
  • Understand that Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) can be used by a wide range of staff, regardless of the level of their training. And that it is an approach that can help us to provide good quality support and care for everyone that we support.

25th May 2017 - Comments from Alison Branch, Senior Clinical Trainer for PBS, North East and Cumbria:

"Thanks for all your help with this.  I received the DVD yesterday and used it to deliver PBS awareness to a group of people with learning disabilities today.  They thought the clips were great and showed how often people's behaviour is a way of simply expressing that they are unhappy with the way they are being supported!  Very powerful message".
